TONY IOMMI: Fate Of Third Outtake From 'Fused' Sessions Revealed
July 7, 2005The third outtake from the recording sessions for BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi's new solo album, "Fused", a song called "Slip Away", will be available as a bonus track download as part of a link-up with Rolling Stone magazine and Real.com. Feature placement for "Fused" will begin when the album is released on July 12, and the exclusive version of the album, including "Slip Away", will not be available until then. U.K. fans will also be able to get "Slip Away" as a bonus track when purchasing "Fused" from Napster. As previously reported, "Let It Down Easy" will be the bonus track on the Japanese edition of the album, which is scheduled for release on July 21 on the Victor Entertainment label. In addition, the song "The Innocence" will be available as a download from iTunes from the day of release (July 11 in Europe, July 12 in the U.S.).
In other news, Tony's recent interview with BBC Radio 1's Mike Davies is available for listening online at BBC.co.uk. The interview is introduced approximately 47 minutes into the show. It opens with the SABBATH track "Iron Man" and closes with Iommi's "Dopamine".
Joining Iommi on "Fused" is former DEEP PURPLE vocalist/bass guitarist Glenn Hughes and former JOHN MELLENCAMP drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has also played sessions with the likes of THE ROLLING STONES, BOB DYLAN, ROD STEWART, ALICE COOPER, BOB SEGER, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and countless others. The CD cover was designed by U.K.-based designer Hugh Gilmour, who has previously worked on covers for BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD, DAVID BOWIE and THE BEATLES, among others. A tour to promote "Fused" will take place later this year after BLACK SABBATH finishes headlining the 10th anniversary Ozzfest tour.
